It was going to be difficult to beat our experience in January; however, Race #2 in Seaside, FL did not disappoint!! I have been fortunate to spend a lot of time with family on the beaches of 30A. To return for February's race was special. On top of looking forward to returning for some time near the water, the race weekend agenda scheduled by the Seaside School made these four days memorable. From live music and good food to the packed expo and an energized race full of cheering spectators along the course, every detail was covered. In their 22nd year, the Seaside School didn't miss.
Another Personal Record?!?
While Running4Memories is centered around running and participating in races, the goal was never to focus on improving as a runner. My goals have been to connect with friends, new and old, and raise awareness about Alzheimer's. However, I am proud to say that I have set a new personal record in each race so far. (In case no one else celebrates your accomplishments, celebrate yourself, right?!). As I expressed at the end of the race, running fast is fun but I'd rather be running together.
Thank You for Continuing to Support
At this point, we have raised over $4,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. This amount has largely outpaced my expectations. Our mission continues to reach new people and I can't say THANK YOU enough to everyone who has generously contributed to R4M!!
Our Next Race is in Atlanta!!
We've adjusted our original schedule and are excited to be running at home in ATLANTA in March! Be on the lookout for more details about how Running4Memories will be partnering with the Jeff Galloway 13.1 Race Team on March 15-17. I hope many of our Atlanta supporters will find a way to get involved in the action.
